Skyla contributes a substantial amount of her time advising business clients in commercial negotiations and on the risks associated with technology and ever-changing data privacy laws.  In addition to her passion for technology, she is passionate about diversity and inclusion and helps organizations diversify their pool of employees and ensuring those employees have equal opportunities and a say at decision-making tables.  

Skyla works with legal organizations throughout Dallas that are committed to the development of Black women attorneys , and she also advises non-profit organizations in Dallas focused on educating and developing young girls of color. Skyla is an active member of the Texas Bar Association, with memberships with the computer and technology section, corporate counsel section, and women and law section.  She is also a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Dallas Bar Association.  

Before practicing law, Skyla earned her B.A. in Economics from Howard University and a J.D. from Southern University Law Center, where she served as Executive Editor of the Journal of Race, Gender and Poverty.  Skyla currently resides in Mansfield, Texas with her husband Josh and their sons, Joshua and Caleb.
